Tralliance Corporation, the dot.travel partner for the UK and Ireland, is planning a programme to promote the dot travel domain.  This includes a newsletter for the UK trade describing the benefits of using a dot-travel name. 

There are currently 2,112 dot-travel names registered in the UK.

It still remains to be seen whether the dot-travel domain will take hold.
