A survey commissioned by Foreign Currency Direct found that Britons are now investing in holiday homes overseas, and this is taking business away from the traditional package holiday.
The report also revealed that overseas homeowners visit their property on average five times per year, and that 20% allow friends and family to use their property free of charge, and 17% rent out their property for a fee.
The report suggest that holiday makers want a homely environment when going on holiday, hence the investment in property overseas.
