Mike Grehan, of the ClickZ Network, predicts that SEO will give way to a new form of digital management and optimisation.
In future SEO will place more emphasis on optimising a range of file types, from PDF’s to audio/visual. More effort will be placed on feeds to search engines. Feed types will no longer be limited to XML feeds into paid inclusions and shopping comparison, but will include feeds with other information, such as, local, financial, news and other verticals. And search will gradually become more of a personalised experience as mobile becomes more popular.
It will become imperative to manage one’s online reputation as marketing continues its reversal from a broadcast medium to a listening medium. More emphasis will be put on monitoring the customers voice than pushing band messages online. And social search will grow as a result of huge growth from marketing into networks.
