Having recovered from Indaba and got our feet back under the desk, we returned to the hot debate of the news of the week.

1) Rich Media boost Click Through Rates – We have been going on about this for a while so we won’t say anymore.

2) BA Website key to record profits.  Interesting research done shows that BA’s ability to provide the best online experience is also reflected in their bottom line.

3) Hot Keywords - “all inclusive holiday” driven by a weak economy.  Keyword popularity reflect the world around us and at present “All Inclusive” seems to be following the global economic downturn.

4) Wiki Traffic - We are all aware of its growth and popularity but it is always good to be reminded of it - of the ability of user generated content to create a huge audience and of the amount of it that is traffic travel related.

5) Amadeus SMS Solution.  Along with a global SIM card, this is a step in the right direction.  We have been going on for a long while about mobile and it’s ability to extend tour operators’ brands.  Amadeus take a bow.

6) Facebook traffic – If you think social networking is only for the young and not for your market, think again.  Huge numbers with a huge interest in travel.

7) Brand Bidding Costs Soar – Only this week we were with a very very big international brand who was unaware that someone was ’stealing their brand’.  It may have changed after pointing this out to them.  But check this out.
