Nielsen Media Statistics shows that Wikipediaweb traffic growth from April 2003 to April 2008 has grown to nearly 8 000% in the U.S. Earlier in the year travolution did a interesting study into the amount of traffic travel brands received in Wikipedia. It was surprisingly high.
Most of Wikipedia’s traffic is generated through referral from search engines, with Google taking the lead by referring 61% of visitors at home and 66% of visitors at work.
Bloggers have also been referencing Wikipedia driving more web traffic and interest.
